Walter C. Parson Funeral Directors is a family business established in 1842 which has remained in the family for seven generations. We strive to deliver a first class service, one which would only be acceptable to a member of our own family.
To strengthen our team, we are seeking individuals to join our team of part time Driver/Bearers. The roles will be primarily based at our Plympton office but will also cover Funerals across Plymouth and the wider Devon and South East Cornwall area. Due to the nature of our work, we need a team that are flexible in working hours and location. This role is being offered on a casual basis with there being greater demand at certain times of the year.
The position will provide a great opportunity to explore a new career in Funeral Services, or may suit someone looking for a few hours with no guaranteed commitment or additional hours to supplement another income.
Please note that whilst mechanical means are used as much as possible there are occasions where lifting and carrying heavy weights are part of the role. Manual handling training is provided and the Company takes their responsibility seriously; however, applicants must be able to carry out the full duties of the role.
Our ideal person will be well presented, have excellent customer service skills, good manners and wonβt mind being outside in all weathers. A full clean driving licence is also a must and living within Plymouth or the surrounding area would be preferable.
Completed application forms should be returned through this website by 4pm on Friday 9th May 2025, however applications will be reviewed as soon as we receive them.
