Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively reengaged by a past client; a highly successful Cornish FMCG brand which has achieved phenomenal growth in recent years. The business has tasked us with sourcing their Finance Manager, a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant either operating at a similar level or seeking to step-up from their current role. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to be principally based at the company’s HQ in Redruth but with some potential for occasional remote working.
Working closely with the company directors and senior management team, the successful candidate will assume lead responsibility for managing all aspects of the day-to-day financial controls of a successful SME. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the finance number one for the business, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
- Production of management accounts for presentation with commentary to the directors
- Bank reconciliations
- Management of the accounts payable and receivable functions
- Cashflow and income monitoring
- HMRC reporting
- Monthly payroll operations to include employee pensions
- Preparation of annual balance sheet
- VAT preparation and submission
- Liaison with Chartered Accountants and key stakeholders
For this role, we’re searching for an experienced Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or perhaps an Assistant Accountant looking to step-up, with solid end-to-end accounting experience, ideally (though not essentially) gained within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Applicants will ideally be qualified AAT as a minimum, but those with demonstrable vocational experience will be given equal consideration. The business promotes a modern working environment making the most of current technology; this role would suit a candidate with strong IT aptitude and excellent skills in the use of MS Excel and digital accounting tools. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact across all departments of the business, so excellent communication skills are required in addition to the ability to supervise and develop an enthusiastic team.
