Maine Medical Center is seeking Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA) for the Inpatient Psychiatry unit (P6). This unit has evolved to serve a medically complex population, focusing on Geriatric Psychiatry. All patients have both a major psychiatric illness and a medical comorbidity requiring inpatient care.
Position Summary: Under the supervision of Registered Professional Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with hygiene and daily activities. Duties may vary by area, considering the specific needs and behaviours of patient populations.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Education: Participates in continuing education relevant to the role.
- License/Certifications: Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and listed on the Maine Registry, having completed a six-week or equivalent course.
- Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
