We have a fantastic opportunity for a Surety Underwriter to join our supportive and productive team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business, underwriting risks, and identifying market trends and customer needs. About the job:

  • Manage and grow a profitable portfolio of business.
  • Underwrite risks in line with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and legislation.
  • Work closely with brokers and customers to manage policies end-to-end.
  • Conduct audits and process reviews.
  • Support the implementation of policy and procedure changes.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve underwriting issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory developments, contribute to projects, and focus on delivering excellent customer outcomes.

Skills and experience required:

  • Underwriting Expertise: Experience in underwriting Surety risks, including new business and renewals in the UK market.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of UK regulations, controls, contracts, and relevant legislation affecting Surety underwriting.
  • Portfolio Management: Ability to manage a profitable portfolio, including end-to-end policy management.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working with various teams to support Surety offerings and underwriting tasks.
  • Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering positive customer outcomes and supporting customer objectives.
