Team/Role Overview

The Processing Risk Analytics Director is a strategic professional who leverages their knowledge of operational risk research and developments to adapt them for application to Processing Risk across Citi, focusing on manual processes supporting the firm\’s key businesses. The individual should have extensive experience in Operational Risk within a large financial services firm.

The role requires excellent communication and diplomacy skills to influence and collaborate with colleagues. Responsibilities include developing Citi-wide and detailed views of Processing Risk—both quantitative and qualitative—and working with large, homogeneous data sets as well as differentiated, high-risk data. The role involves interaction with both 1st and 2nd Line of Defence to measure, track, and oversee remediation of Processing Risk. The manager will oversee a team in Tampa and Belfast, handling work planning, execution, performance reviews, and collaboration, ensuring compliance with risk policies and standards.

What you\’ll do

  1. Update and implement Processing Risk Policies, Standards, and Procedures across Citi, especially related to risk measurement and identification of risky areas.
  2. Partner with the 1st line of defense to maintain and enhance Key Indicators and develop new analytical frameworks as needed.
  3. Develop holistic measures of Processing Risk to compare risks over time and identify themes and concentrations.
  4. Provide accurate reporting of operational risks to senior management and the Board.
  5. Analyze risk data to identify high-risk areas and assess mitigation effectiveness.
  6. Escalate situations where metrics deviate from trends or thresholds pose excessive risk.
  7. Identify root causes of losses and near misses to prevent recurrence.
  8. Summarize findings for senior management and regulators, highlighting key trends.
  9. Apply ethical judgment, manage control issues transparently, and supervise team activities.

What we\’ll need from you

  • Significant experience with data extraction and analysis, statistical knowledge, and familiarity with relational databases.
  • Operational Risk experience; knowledge of other risk disciplines is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to ask insightful questions, and simplify complex issues.
  • Proven track record in risk mitigation and process improvement.
  • Effective communication skills for senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience managing global teams and leading diverse groups.

Education

  • Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent; Master\’s preferred.
  • Extensive risk management and managerial experience.

The candidate should have senior-level experience in developing and implementing risk frameworks, supporting regulatory responses, and optimizing business processes to reduce Processing Risk.
