This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multi-discipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide.
We are seeking a Test Engineer who will work as part of a cross-functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions. The role will involve the planning and execution of testing and the analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data-driven continuous improvement principles. A Mechatronic / Software background is required with basic hands-on mechanical and electronics skills being advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute test plans for the evaluation of early design concepts
- Modifying and writing test scripts
- Capture, analysis and reporting of test data and results
- Setup and build of test rigs to support the rapid development cycles
- Undertake testing and debugging of our design, ensuring that the design meets the design specification
- Recommending solutions
The successful candidate will be a highly focused, self-motivated individual who already has a keen interest in developing system tests and use of data to validate product performance. He/She should have some knowledge and understanding of:
- Test planning and execution
- Data analysis and result reporting (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Test Software Scripting
- Test Automation / Robotics
- National Instruments LabVIEW software
- Electromechanical systems
- Basic mechanical and electronics practical skills (assembly, soldering etc.)
- Basic understanding of motors, sensors and control
- Minimum Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Software Engineering, Electronics, Computing or related subject in Engineering
- Relevant Work experience in a similar engineering role would be an advantage
