An opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Hotel Receptionist at the Park Plaza Cardiff. The Park Plaza Hotel Cardiff is a successful 4-star deluxe hotel located in the heart of the city. The hotel offers 129 state-of-the-art guestrooms, a 120 seater Brasserie style restaurant, a busy bar, modern meeting and event facilities accommodating up to 150 guests for dinner, the Kuku Club for private hire and the luxurious Laguna Health & Spa.
Schedule: 8 hour shift, Weekend availability
Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Hotel Reception: 1 year (preferred)
- Office: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
- Hotel: 1 year (preferred)
- Hotel Front Office System: 1 year (preferred)
- Opera Front Office: 1 year (preferred)
In this role you will be responsible for providing a professional 4* deluxe front desk service to all our guests and visitors.
Duties Include:
- Checking guests in and out of the hotel
- Room allocation and management
- Answering and directing all phone calls that come into the business
- Handling any guest queries and complaints and resolving them effectively and efficiently
- Dealing with reservation enquiries
- Assisting guests with any special requests e.g., transport, tickets, additional requirements etc.
- Processing bills and managing guest payments
- Handling show arounds and sale enquiries when needed
- Working 5 out of 7 days as per departmental rota.
Applicants will need:
- IT and telephone experience - ideally with Fidelio Opera
- To be able to project a professional personal image
- To be numerate, literate and have excellent verbal communication skills
- Experience of delivering a high level of customer service
- To be well organised, methodical and have attention for detail
- Front Desk Reception experience in a similar standard hotel would be preferred
This role is a vital part of our business, receptionists are expected to have an understanding of the business as a whole as the majority of queries come through this department. It is essential that the applicant has the drive to learn and grow within the business. Individuals must show empathy toward guest situations and provide the service expected of a 4* deluxe establishment.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent position working 39 hours per week
Pay: £23,322.00 per year
