The Newspaper Operations team is responsible for leading the operational planning, production, and timely distribution of our printed titles. We deliver an innovative, collaborative approach to the planning and delivery of the printed product, improving processes, using technology, and leveraging our talent to make our print operations smarter. A competent, diligent, and communicative member of staff working at an intermediate level across the department’s functions. Provides practical technical expertise in their work process areas to support others. This is an exciting, challenging role requiring high attention to detail. The role involves imaging responsibilities, working 37.5 hours per week over 4 days on a fully flexible rota covering 7 days (including weekends).

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a small team handling colour correction and cutouts of images for both Newspapers and Magazines.
  • Transmit magazine pages to printers.
  • Assist with correcting images for POS posters, banners, and promotional printed material.
  • Proof images for editorial approval.
  • Collaborate with designers to advise on image quality and provide guidance as needed.
  • Occasionally work out of hours in a standalone capacity.
  • Work accurately and efficiently, potentially involving transmission and planning tasks.
