We are seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to join our highly skilled engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and self-sufficient RF professional to contribute to both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Engineering across a broad range of innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities:- RF Circuit Design: Engage in system architecture, RF simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout. Work on general RF circuits and have the opportunity to contribute to high-power amplifiers, converters, and power supplies.
- Product Development: Lead and support full product lifecycles, from requirements capture through to design, testing, and validation.
- Technical Authority: Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related challenges, working closely with embedded, product, and mechanical engineering colleagues.
- Independent Work: Manage your own workload and testing with minimal supervision.
- Mentoring & Collaboration: Provide guidance to junior engineers and help evolve team practices through knowledge sharing and documentation.
- Experience: Background in RF design or a closely related field in a commercial setting.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with PCB design software and RF simulation tools; knowledge of RF amplifiers, filters, EMC principles, and both analogue and digital electronics.
- Desirable: Experience with up/down converters, power supply design, and test equipment (e.g. spectrum/network analysers).
- Work Style: Confident working autonomously, able to take ownership of complex technical tasks.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Security: British citizenship or eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) is required.
This is a remote-first role, offering flexibility while retaining meaningful connection with our on-site team. We ask that candidates are able to attend the Wappenham office approximately one week per month for key meetings and collaboration. All travel and accommodation costs for these visits will be covered. Ideally, you should be located within a two-hour drive of the site.
