As a result of successful company growth, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team.
About the role
Our commercial team interacts with all departments to ensure our projects are delivered on time and within budget. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Vital Energi, you will work closely with our project teams to manage key commercial activities.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with site management to support sites commercially and develop proactive site teams, ensuring contractual obligations are identified and administered.
- Vet contract documentation from clients to ensure compatibility with the company’s tender processes and negotiations.
- Produce a Commercial Risk Register for each contract, monitor risks, and assist in implementing mitigation measures.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for major plant, equipment, and sub-contract packages; vet quotations, negotiate prices and terms, and issue purchase orders.
- Prepare and submit payment applications and invoices, obtain payment certificates, and progress client payments according to contractual provisions.
- Manage variations, loss & expense claims, and/or compensation events to facilitate prompt agreement of final accounts.
- Maintain on-site record keeping and issue notices as per contractual requirements.
- Prepare and submit monthly cost value reconciliations and cash/spend profiles; participate in contract review meetings.
- Authorize and code suppliers’ and sub-contractors’ invoices for payment.
- Measure, certify, and agree on sub-contractors’ interim valuations and final accounts; issue contractual notices to sub-contractors.
What you will need
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience with NEC contracts.
- Proven experience in a quantity surveying role with success in commercial management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes effectively.
- Experience with financial and contract management software (desirable).
