Sense Education is looking to appoint a qualified Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Workington. This role is ideal for someone with knowledge of SEND who can bring both dedication and compassion to the classroom. A Teaching Assistant qualification or Degree level education is required for this position.
The Primary School Teaching Assistant Role:
- Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support and interventions for students and encourage them to engage in their learning.
- Promote a positive and inclusive class environment, encouraging all children to reach their full potential.
- Work closely with school staff and outside professionals to support students in their education.
- Contribute to a collaborative, child-centred approach that nurtures individual strengths and needs.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: A recognised Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification is required.
- Experience: Ideally, experience supporting individuals with SEND, either in a school, care or other setting.

- Mainstream primary school in the Workington area with a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
