Are you looking for a new role? We have an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic Parks and Greenspace Team.

There’s never been a better time to join Totally Local Company. We’re looking for a hardworking and flexible Greenspace Operative 2 who will deliver high standards and be an ambassador for the TLC family in our community.

You\’ll play an integral role in maintaining one of Stockport’s most used and loved parks.

What you will be doing in this role

• You\’ll drive a range of vehicles with gross vehicle weight up to 7.5 tonnes including tippers, mechanical sweepers, ride on mowers, tractors, small mechanical diggers, platform vehicles, chipping machines etc and be responsible for daily vehicle checks and adjustments, brush maintenance, routine cleaning and defect reporting.
• You\’ll undertake grounds maintenance and horticultural duties in areas including countryside parks, highway verges, landscaped areas, planted areas, recreation areas and other public amenity areas.
• You\’ll carry out high quality horticultural operations such as hand weeding, weed spraying, application of pesticides and fertilisers, mowing grass, pruning, hedge cutting and other associated duties.
• You\’ll perform general cleansing duties such as sweeping, cleaning, litter picking and removal of weeds, debris and ruse. Where required to, remove graffiti and fly posting or other offensive material.
• You\’ll maintain recreational and sports facilities including markings to specified standards.

What we are looking for

• You\’ll have experience in delivering grounds maintenance.
• You\’ll possess knowledge and understanding of horticultural standards, working methods and equipment deployed within Parks and Grounds maintenance.
• You\’ll adopt a team-working approach at work
• You\’ll be willing to work flexibly in a changing environment, in line with business demands and needs.
• You\’ll act professionally at all times when in contact with the public and other customers; you will be responsible for presenting a positive image of both TLC and our clients.
