Volunteers will be involved in handling and pricing donations, operating the till, and helping to create eye-catching displays.
Experience required: Volunteers should enjoy working as part of a team and be eager to learn new skills. Creativity is also valued. Full training will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. In-house training will cover practical aspects of the role—handling and pricing donations, operating the till, etc. Volunteers will also complete online training related to the history of the Red Cross, its values, health and safety, and more.
Restrictions:
- Minimum age: 16
- Please note that our back shop area is not wheelchair accessible (it involves three steps), and there is limited space behind the till for wheelchairs.
- Red Cross volunteers must be over 16.
Availability:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Frequency & commitment:
- Wednesday: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm
- Thursday: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm
- Friday: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm
- Saturday: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm
Volunteers aged 12-25 participating in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours.
