We are looking for an ambitious legal executive / legal secretary to assist solicitors within our litigation department. A law degree is not an essential requirement for this position, and there is no immediate path to apprenticeship.
Criteria:
- A minimum of 1 year experience of carrying out a range of administrative duties, for example, diary management and telephone skills.
- Good IT skills, MS Office (Word and Outlook).
- Previous experience with LAMS (online legal aid applications) is preferable.
- Minimum 5 GCSE passes at Grade C (or equivalent) including English Language.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Taking instructions from clients.
- Managing a caseload with the oversight of a Solicitor.
- Completing online applications for legal aid funding in respect of clients on LAMs.
- Managing and arranging appointments.
- Acting as a key interface, ensuring that communications and information from internal and external contacts are forwarded and managed effectively.
- The ability to take informed decisions and to plan, organise and re-prioritise tasks to meet competing demands.
