Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of community services, mental health care, physical care, addiction services, and learning disability care. Working as part of our service, you will be able to demonstrate team working abilities, good communication skills, and experience in fitting, assembling, and dismantling equipment.

The Community Equipment Service has visible and responsive leadership, setting the standards for others and role modelled throughout the division for all managers. Community Equipment Assistants play an important role in the day-to-day work of the service, dealing with the movement of equipment within the warehouse, decontaminating all returned equipment adhering to Trust policies and procedures, and loading and unloading equipment onto Trust vehicles while adhering to manual handling training. This post will involve delivering equipment to patients in their homes.

We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health, including specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction, and brain injury services. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in cleaning and refurbishment of all returned equipment.
  • Move equipment around the warehouse from the cleaning area to main storage areas.
  • Assist the drivers in the deliveries and collections of equipment.
  • Comply with health and safety requirements when handling equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with the team.
  • Undertake general warehouse and storekeeping duties including stock takes of equipment.
