About Head of IT Location: Birmingham – onsite, full-time About The Role We\’re seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of IT to lead our technology landscape. This hands-on leadership role is perfect for someone who can align IT with business goals, lead service delivery teams, and optimize our Microsoft technology stack. You will lead a small but growing IT team, ensuring systems, infrastructure, and services operate smoothly. Your responsibilities will include strategy development, service management, stakeholder engagement, and technology delivery. Key Responsibilities Own and drive the IT strategy aligned with business objectives to build a technology-enabled organization using modern solutions. Lead IT operations, service delivery, and support across multiple sites. Manage and develop the internal IT team and third-party suppliers. Ensure robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure. Oversee Microsoft services (365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, etc.). Champion ITIL-based service delivery, meeting SLAs and KPIs. Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization in IT services. Act as the escalation point for critical IT incidents. Support technology projects. Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with data security, GDPR, and best practices. What We\’re Looking For Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role (e.g., Head of IT, IT Manager). Strong background in service delivery and ITIL practices. Deep knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Manager, etc.). Experience with infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery. Comfortable in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. Collaborative leadership style with mentoring skills.
