Experience working with Children and Young People as a support worker. This is a permanent position and would be ideal for people around Chester. We also have roles in Congleton, Stafford, Stoke, or Crewe.

Rota and shifts available are:

  • 8am – 10pm days
  • 8am – 8.30am (sleep shift 11pm-7.30am sleeping)
  • 9.30pm – 8.30am (waking night)

Sleeps paid at Β£70. Waking nights are time and a third. Pay scales – Β£12.21 – Β£13.22 depending on experience and qualifications.

Preferred Criteria

  • NVQ level 2 or 3 Health and Social care OR Children and Young People

This is a permanent position supporting Children in a Residential Setting based in the area. A great company with great benefits and lots of progression. Although permanent, we are also looking for candidates who could start immediately on a temp-to-perm basis. This will be full-time for the first 12 weeks, moving onto a permanent contract on week 13.

Supporting children aged between 05-16, you will be helping to increase their independence skills and supporting them in various ways. It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High standard of general education.
  • Preferably NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Current full driving license with business insurance.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for providing support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in the delivery of the service, including:
  • Providing transport/escort to the young person as directed in care plans
  • Conducting welcome and induction for young people
  • Ongoing assessments
  • Providing ongoing support and monitoring of young people
  • Assisting in welfare and NHS issues
  • Preparing reports
  • Arranging appointments with various partner agencies
  • Maintaining regular contact with young people
  • Informing service users of support groups
  • Assisting move-on of service users
  • Accurately record, create, maintain, and update electronic records of our young people.
  • Prepare for and attend meetings as required or directed.
  • Provide mediation to service users as required or directed.
  • Use IT packages effectively to support the work of the company.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding service users, clients, and the company.
  • Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures.
  • Report housing issues to the services department and assist in resolving defects.
  • Undertake on-call duties as directed.
  • Participate in office reception duties when required.
  • Be prepared to work sleep-in shifts as required.
  • Show flexibility to cover all offices across the company as needed.
