An exciting opportunity has become available for a New Graduate Vet to join our team. We are looking for someone to start work in the new year.
Our Albavet Group has an excellent culture, we work-up cases, have night hospitalisation of inpatients with 24-hour nursing. We have our own dedicated Night Nurse in post to support in-patient care. A real focus on clinical care through high-quality nursing, ultrasound imaging, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. We have a visiting Orthopaedic surgeon most weeks. Number of our Vets are working towards certificates. We have dental x-ray, ultrasound and otoscopic endoscopy with endoscopic equipment and are lap spay accessible at our partner practice.
We are a team of 6 Vets, 12 RVNs, 1 VCA and a Reception team - we are a truly supportive bunch; all have our hobbies and believe in a good work/life balance. We do 6 pm finishes and one late night a week working to 8 pm. You will work a 40 hour week. Our rota also involves working a 1:6 Saturday and Sunday day shift, working from 9 am to 5 pm. A cat friendly practice, soon to be puppy friendly and lucky to have our own behavioural Nurse!
Location: Dunfermline is located approximately five miles from the Forth Road Bridge and is therefore particularly popular with people from many parts of the central belt with easy access to the M90 motorway with its direct links to Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee and across the Kincardine Bridge by way of motorways to Stirling, Glasgow and the West. It benefits from a full range of shops, social and leisure facilities and educational establishments associated with a modern City. The local railway stations provide a regular service to Edinburgh with intercity links to other parts of the UK. There are regular and convenient bus services both local and national.
We are looking for someone to start work within the next couple of months to allow you the opportunity to attend our Graduate Programme Residential Week that is scheduled for the end of January.
As well as enjoying our modern facilities, well equipped practice and a busy varied caseload, you will have access to a range of benefits and our tailor made New Graduate programme offering you the right support network in practice by ensuring you have an experienced clinical mentor working alongside you in your practice. In addition, you will attend dedicated Continued Professional Development (CPD) days, supporting the development of your clinical skills and non-clinical skills, including self-leadership, teamwork, wellbeing, resilience and business, whilst also providing the opportunity for you to share experiences with fellow graduates.
These are just some of the benefits of the programme:
- Paid onboarding phase which includes a Residential. All UK travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for the Residential will be covered by CVS.
- Salary of £35,000 which increases at the end of year 1 and at the end of year 2.
