A vacancy has arisen for a Despatch Manager to join our Cardington site as part of the Production Management team. The role will involve managing the day-to-day despatch operation and ensuring customer orders are sent out in full and on time. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to individuals with experience, drive, determination and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities
  • Accountability for the collation, storage and distribution of meat and meat products to fulfil orders and meet with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Keep informed of all key information such as shortages ensuring timely communication to the Site Operations Manager.
  • Lead, train and develop a team of despatch operatives, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance.
  • Ensure there is a labour plan in place for Despatch taking into account holidays/absence/range of skills/grades required etc. to ensure there is sufficient labour resource to efficiently run production and achieve KPI targets.
  • To ensure that departmental KPIs are implemented and achieved, and results are accurately measured, recorded and analysed on a regular basis.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to ensure adequate stock availability for timely dispatch.
Qualifications
  • Experience of managing a team within a fast-paced operation, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Despatch/ Goods in – Goods out experience.
  • IT literate with good level of experience of MS Office and other packages.
  • Good level of numeracy skill and comfortable dealing with figures.
  • Strong attention to detail and driven to achieve high standards.
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and remain calm under pressure, and to strict deadlines.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to speak, read and write in English clearly and accurately is essential.
  • Proactive approach to work, anticipating potential issues and dealing with them effectively.
