We are looking for a committed Excavator Driver to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, working on our waste management facilities. In this role, you will operate heavy machinery equipped with a hydraulic grab, bucket or claw attachment, often used for handling bulk materials such as construction waste, scrap metal, or other large debris.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating Machinery: Safely operate Excavator vehicles to lift, move, and load materials such as scrap, construction waste, or debris into crusher, trucks or designated areas.
- Material Handling: Efficiently use the hydraulic grab to sort and move different materials, ensuring minimal damage and maximizing space usage.
- Site Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring that operations are performed without risk to personnel or property.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform daily checks on the vehicle, including fluid levels, tires, brakes, and attachments. Report any malfunctions or required repairs.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of loads transported, fuel usage, and vehicle inspections.
- Communication: Coordinate with site managers, supervisors, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow and material handling.
- Compliance: Follow environmental and safety regulations, especially in waste management operations.
- Customer Interaction: In some cases, liaise with clients, ensuring proper delivery and collection of materials.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Valid Driver's License (appropriate for operating heavy machinery).
- Experience with crushers.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation, particularly with hydraulic grabs.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards.
