We are recruiting a Bid Manager to join a thriving Facilities Management (FM) team. You will play a key role in creating tender submissions, primarily targeting local authority and public sector contracts.
Key Responsibilities of the Bid Manager:
- Bid writing and content development
- Produce high-quality, engaging, and technically sound responses for PQQs, RFIs, ITTs, and other tender documentation
- Lead the writing and submission of successful bids and tenders for local authority and public sector opportunities
- Adapt and edit existing content to suit each opportunity
- Transform technical, commercial, and operational information into cohesive bid submissions
- Utilise AI tools to support information collation and response refinement
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments for relevant content
- Participate in bid planning, review sessions, and progress reviews
- Assist in coordinating inputs and managing submission timelines
- Ensure documentation accuracy, structure, and compliance
- Maintain bid libraries, templates, and best-practice guides
Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Incorporate feedback from past bids to improve future submissions
- Create and maintain a repository of model answers, case studies, and evidence-based content
- Develop and deliver training on tender writing skills and processes
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications (Essential):
- Proven bid writing experience in Facilities Management or Construction sectors
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent English command
- Ability to interpret and present technical and commercial data clearly
- Experience managing multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Collaborative and proactive team approach
Desirable:
- Knowledge of cost planning and FM mobilisation processes
- Experience writing successful bids for local authority and public sector clients
- Familiarity with public sector procurement (PAS91, SQs, MEAT, etc.)
