Manage and coordinate the bidding process to deliver successful bids that secure new business opportunities, renewals, or positions on frameworks. Ensure all bids are submitted on time, within budget, and meet high standards of quality. Support the Head of Bids – Projects in securing the company's position as the preferred solution provider. This is a hybrid role based in Manchester (1-2 days per week) with home working and occasional travel to other offices as needed.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall commercial and technical proposal strategy, including win themes, differentiated solutions, and pricing strategies.
- Analyze tender documentation and client requirements to ensure compliance and that all needs are addressed.
- Research client, industry, and competitor information to tailor proposals effectively.
- Create and manage detailed bid plans, including milestones, deadlines, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (commercial, technical, legal, SMEs) to produce comprehensive, high-quality submissions.
- Review and translate bid storyboards and documents into compelling content; lead writing and editing efforts.
- Guide Bid Writers and contributors, ensuring understanding of requirements and strategy.
- Implement review feedback efficiently, refining bid documents at each stage.
- Support bid review teams with expertise and facilitate feedback incorporation.
- Ensure all bid documentation complies with client requirements, proofreading for accuracy and timeliness.
- Contribute expertise to other bid teams within Mitie.
Candidate Profile
- Proven Bid Manager experience in construction, with success in securing new business and renewals.
- Strong project management skills; capable of managing the entire bid process.
- Excellent communication skills; able to brief teams and develop winning strategies.
- Meticulous attention to detail; skilled in writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Deep understanding of bidding processes, ITT/spec analysis, and resource allocation.
- Ability to collaborate on pricing strategies aligned with commercial goals.
- Open to continuous improvement and learning new tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro; experience with AI software is a plus.
