This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Worker required to work with a 15-year-old boy with autism. They speak both Portuguese and English. The worker would be expected to help promote this young person’s social inclusion and assist them to develop their self-confidence within the community. The young person in question is very sporty and adores sports, in particular football and being outdoors. They are sociable but can become overwhelmed in very busy social situations, so will need support navigating this.

Whilst caring experience is always useful, you don’t necessarily need to have worked in care to be a great Direct Payment Worker; the right attitude and a person-centred approach is more important.
