The Role:
- Primary responsibility is to develop cost estimates on routine and complex print, mailing, and envelope enquiries as required to assist Sales/Client Services/Management in the manufacturing of their clients' work.
- Engineer the best production plan for a project.
- Evaluate all methods available for producing a job and provide quotes based on the most economical method within the timescales required when known.
- Plan jobs using a variety of substrates and printing methods.
- Revise estimates as needed due to specification changes/quantity changes.
- Develop knowledge of materials/methods/suppliers available and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare estimates for purposes such as planning and scheduling.
- Consult with Sales, Suppliers, and Internal Departments to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Maintain estimating standard procedures.
- Utilise estimating software to provide quotes to Sales and Customer Services.
- Consult with departmental managers to determine production capabilities and optimal production processes.
- Advise and provide direction and support to employees to determine specifications on a project.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of all printing, paper, purchasing, and supplier options available.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
