As a Reporter, you’ll research, write, and report top-trending stories, attend major European congresses, and conduct interviews with thought leaders on camera to keep healthcare professionals informed.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Sourcing and writing SEO news on medical research, public health policies, and global healthcare trends.
- Ability to report on camera in an engaging and compelling manner.
- Publishing medically accurate, search-engine-optimised articles in EMJ’s house style daily.
- Attending international congresses and press briefings, providing written and video coverage of key events.
- Confident in conducting interviews on camera and in writing with Key Opinion leaders and healthcare experts.
- Monitoring emerging health trends and providing insightful coverage through EMJ’s lens.
- Collaborating with the editorial team to adapt content for multiple platforms, including the web, email, and social media.
- Contributing to the growth of EMJ’s podcast series and building a network of specialists across diverse clinical fields.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, publishing, or a scientific discipline.
- A keen interest in medical or scientific writing, with the ability to communicate complex medical concepts to a professional audience.
- Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in content SEO, Google Trends, and WordPress.
- Confidence in front of a camera for interviews and video reporting.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple projects.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ABPI code of practice is a plus.

Key Information
- Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 (based on experience)
- Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
- Working pattern: Hybrid min 3 days in the office (FT in office during probation)

We operate a hybrid working environment. We’d expect to see you in the office at least 3 days a week. During your probation, though, you’ll be in with us all five days.
