About the role
Lloyd & Whyte, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for an Accounts Team Leader to join our Finance team in their Taunton office. The successful individual will be a seasoned accounts professional, ideally working towards a ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, with a keenness for and/or experience in people management. Through effective leadership of your team, you will work to provide accounting support to our partners and all business areas, handling more complex referrals and cases, as well as supporting your team with day to day tasks. Key responsibilities
- Achieve individual and team targets and key performance indicators as set and agreed
- Provide leadership and support to direct reports
- Ensure day to day accounts functions are met in order to achieve a satisfactory audit opinion
- Maintain and follow financial policies and management information systems
- Promote, develop and enable our values and culture within the team, including qualification, product and technical knowledge with relevant competency levels achieved and maintained
- Manage and develop individual performance through identification of training needs & implementation of coaching and development plans
- Maintain own technical competence to effectively assist with referrals and handle a variety of complex work
- Assist with producing accurate and timely management accounts and financial reports
- Highlight improvements in financial processes and systems
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
- Work collaboratively with all colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Demonstrable experience within a fast-paced accounts role.
- Working towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or qualified by experience)
- Living within a commutable distance to our Taunton office (3+ times per week)
- Supportive of the creation of a results-driven team, focusing both in the short & long term.
- Focused on technical excellence and decision making with prompt service and quality standard at the forefront
- Confident and capable in communicating, presenting, networking, managing relationships and providing an excellent client experience
- Driven to be pro-active to new challenges and positively shape the desired opportunities and outcomes
- Creative and effective in shaping a team focus on service, quality standards and efficiency
- Intellectual with strong commercial acumen and technical accountancy knowledge
