A leading Managing General Agent (MGA) is seeking a Financial Lines Underwriter to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to underwrite complex and high-value risks across key financial lines, including D&O, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, and Financial Institutions.

As a key player in the underwriting team, you will have the opportunity to build strong broker relationships, assess risk exposures, and contribute to the strategic growth of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and manage a diverse portfolio of Financial Lines risks, ensuring profitability and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and capacity providers to drive new business and renewals.
  • Assess and price risks effectively, leveraging market insights and technical underwriting expertise.
  • Negotiate terms and coverage to meet client needs while aligning with company objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including claims, actuarial, and senior management, to optimise portfolio performance.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks in the Financial Lines sector.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Financial Lines underwriting within an MGA, insurer, or Lloyd’s syndicate.
  • Strong technical knowledge across D&O, PI, Cyber, and Financial Institutions.
  • A well-established broker network with a strong market presence.
  • Ability to assess complex risks, negotiate effectively, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment.
