The predicted salary is between 28000 - 40000 £ per year.

Location: Barrow (Cumbria). We offer relocation support packages for this role, subject to meeting eligibility criteria. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements; however, for this role, you will be expected to attend your site up to 5 days per week.

Salary: £34,000 + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll work together with submariners, operators, and engineers to understand the challenges they face when designing and building submarines.
  • Assessing workload and situation awareness to optimise operator performance.
  • Planning and conducting user trials to assess developing design and optimise user interaction.
  • Developing and understanding Human Computer Interaction.
  • Assessing Human Machine Interfaces.
  • Using measurements of the human body when assessing spatial layout design, including working with 3D CAD tools, immersive VR, and constructing full scale mock-ups.
  • Providing human reliability analysis and human factors support to site safety cases.

Qualification requirements: As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Human Factors, Ergonomics, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Design or a related STEM – Science, Technology, Maths or Engineering.
