Westacre Nursing Home is based in Sleepers Hill in Winchester, where we provide care to those who require nursing, residential and dementia services. As an Activities Support Volunteer, you'll play a role in enhancing our residents' experience by encouraging them to participate in various activities. These can include board games, afternoon tea, gentle exercises, and engaging conversations. You'll provide support both in communal areas and at residents' bedsides, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get involved. Your involvement will promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical activity, contributing to the overall well-being and happiness of our residents.
What's involved in the role?
- Providing companionship and support to residents.
- Engaging residents in a variety of activities including board games, reading, word games, and puzzles.
- Help set up for larger activities such as themed parties and afternoon teas to enhance resident engagement and enjoyment.
- Encouraging residents to participate in activities both at their bedsides and in communal areas.
