Deputise for the Senior Sister in her absence.
Manage Allocate Roster Systems.
Manage Sickness and Absence.
On a day-to-day basis, run the Nurse in Charge desk, create the daily staff allocations, and triage the Ophthalmology referrals until 5pm each day.
If you are Ophthalmology trained, you will be required to participate in clinical duties when you are not Nurse in Charge.
If you are not Ophthalmology trained, you will be required to carry out other clinical duties to support the department.
I am looking for an experienced and dynamic Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse. Someone who can hit the ground running with established and proven management skills.
I require a deputy who will support and provide inspirational ideas and suggestions to improve the department and support the staff.
A Band 6 who is familiar with Quality Assurance and Quality Improvements. Willing to take on board clinical audits and present the findings. To display initiative and innovation without being prompted.

University Hospitals Birmingham is a Smoke-Free premises hospital.
The department operates a Monday to Friday service 8am to 6pm.
