General Sales Assistant - Pets & Aquatics Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of an inspirational team as a weekend General Sales Assistant in our Pets & Aquatics Department.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and great motivation are essential to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

This position is to work every weekend.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring all customers are greeted and offered assistance.
Handling customer queries courteously and efficiently.
Identifying customer needs through interaction, and taking appropriate action.
Maintaining good, up-to-date knowledge of the layout of the department and centre.
Establishing and maintaining an excellent standard of merchandising and housekeeping in accordance with company guidelines.
Carrying out all till and cash handling procedures in line with Company procedures.
Ensuring personal compliance with Whitehall’s H&S guidelines.
Assisting in the cleaning of all enclosures and tanks in line with Company procedures.
Some animal knowledge would be preferred.
Maintaining a harmonious and cooperative relationship with staff, managers and third parties.
