Reporting to: Senior Production, Editorial and Art Teams

Role Summary

Plan, coordinate and deliver photographic production on Dazed Magazine and Dazed Digital on each issue and shoot by shoot basis (editorial & advertorial) with support on commissioning from Senior Production.

Duties, Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Requirement to work across the Dazed Brand - print and online, and experiential (Dazed Factory).
  • Under the direction of the Creative & Fashion Directors and senior production, manage the production process for Dazed print & online photographic content: commission photographers, source/contract stylists, hair, make-up, and models.
  • Support the senior producer to produce and project manage exceptional content from the briefing stage through to project delivery. Lead on select projects.
  • Contribute ideas, suggestions, leads, and format ideas to enhance the visual identity, impact, quality and quantity of photographic content in both print and online.
  • Collaborate with EIC, Exec Editorial Director, Creative Director & Fashion Director, Commercial and Social teams to plan and schedule shoots for Dazed Magazine and DazedDigital.com.
  • Attend commissioning meetings for editorial and commercial projects, contributing photographer suggestions.
  • Manage shoot logistics to include: booking travel, hotels, studio/location hire, equipment hire, option hair/make-up, stylists, photo team, set designers.
  • Overseeing casting correspondence with the Casting Director and external casting directors.
  • Communicate effectively with Directors/Editors photographic possibilities and limitations.
  • Chase Photographers and Photographers agents in order to get in lo-res and hi-res images by agreed deadline.
  • Oversee and be responsible for all credit collating, checking and confirming for each project.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that final files for print and online content are delivered to the correct formats and colour profiles on time.
  • Allocate, manage and update individual and master shoot production budgets into the Excel budget spreadsheets - flag overspending to Dazed & Finance team and reconcile budgets at close of issue.
  • Commission, schedule, produce and manage budgets for all photo based advertorials in Dazed and on DazedDigital collaborating with respective Project Manager.
  • Working closely with the syndication team department to ensure agreements and assets are shared promptly when requested.
  • Provide all commissioned photographers/film-makers with commissioning agreements and ensure they are signed, returned and filed.
  • Ensure all invoices and new supplier forms are shared promptly with the Finance Department.
  • Ensuring the membership and subscription is at the forefront when thinking about the Dazed brand in 2025 and beyond.

  • Fluent in production documents and paperwork.
  • Flexible approach and drive to use your own initiative.

  • Existing network of contacts within the industry.
  • Photo agency experience is beneficial.
