Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from ÂŁ14.76 an hour; this increases to ÂŁ15.97 for stores inside the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of ÂŁ2.35 per hour worked. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may choose to work fewer hours (minimum 12). You\’ll have 3 weeks\’ notice of your shift schedule.
About the role
Availability window: 22:00–07:00 on Sun, Mon, Thu, Fri and Sat. We schedule contracted hours within these windows and support flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast‑paced retail environment with a wide range of products.
- Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
- Be there for customers, listening to them and ensuring they leave the store with what they came for.
- Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and giving feedback.
- Guide and support colleagues in‑store, ensuring a safe place to work and shop.
- Maintain a great understanding of store performance, assisting managers in delivering actions that improve the store\’s operation.
- Lead from the front and set a great example for the team.
- Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience.
- Supporting colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks.
- Opening and closing the store, completing duty cover, and making decisions for everyone\’s safety.
- Acting as the go‑to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day‑to‑day queries.
- Ensuring the store is always clean, tidy and well‑presented.
- Supporting managers with seasonal, community and charity events.
- Contributing to a great team atmosphere, inclusive of everyone.
- Providing great customer service by listening to customers and putting them first.
- Keeping the team well‑informed and up to speed on communications, changes or updates.
- Staying knowledgeable about store performance and looking for ways to simplify operations.
- Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to service.
- Following health and safety routines and procedures.
- Recognising and celebrating colleagues within the team who provide great service.

- Must be aged 18 or over.
