We are excited to have a vacancy for a Specialist Teacher to join our team at our fantastic, newly refurbished SEN school based in Theale, West Berkshire. Our school caters to students with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs, so we are looking for a Specialist Teacher that has an understanding of special educational needs. Our school is committed to helping students re-engage with their education and re-ignite their excitement and motivation for learning! We want to welcome a dedicated Specialist Teacher to support students as soon as possible!

The school has just opened the doors to a newly developed building, with the aim of providing children with high standards of education and personalised support, tailored to their needs. As a Specialist Teacher, the role involves planning and delivering a varying curriculum to children with additional needs related to speech, communication, cognitive skills, and sensory/physical requirements.

Specialist Teacher Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting a class of 4-5 students
  • Planning, leading and teaching classroom activities
  • Monitoring and recording progress both academically and against EHCPs
  • Working closely to keep students engaged, motivated and inspired by linking their personal interests to the curriculum
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants so they can effectively support pupils

We are looking for a Qualified Teacher who is compassionate, resilient, and committed to helping pupils reach their potential. Communication skills are key; both verbal and written communication will be a big part of your role.
