Senior/Principal Ornithologist

Overview

A Senior or Principal grade Ornithologist is required to join an award winning ecology team. This role can be based UK wide with remote working options available. You will join a supportive and collaborative team to deliver a range of projects including renewables and wind farm developments.

You will have previous experience delivering similar projects, excellent bird ID skills and be able to demonstrate a range of ornithology surveys techniques, including vantage points, black grouse, breeding birds and raptors. You will play a key part in delivering ornithological impact assessments and writing EIA chapters for ornithology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ornithological impact assessments and write EIA chapters for ornithology.
• Contribute to delivery of projects including renewables and wind farm developments as part of an ecology team.

Qualifications

• A degree in Ecology, Biological Science or similar and CIEEM membership
• Previous Ornithology experience designing and delivering bird survey programmes
• Experience with other species would be advantageous (e.g. Bats, habitats, terrestrial mammals)
• Full UK driver\’s licence
