Cook Supervisor

30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term-Time only

Permanent

£29,326 – £29,924 pro rata / £15.20 – £15.51 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited from motivated individuals to undertake duties as the Cook Supervisor responsible for the provision of the school meal service at Stromness Primary School. Duties include:

1. Preparation, cooking, and service of food
2. Supervision of staff
3. Menu planning
4. Ordering of provisions
5. Ensuring compliance with food safety and completion of associated records
6. Cash handling
7. Liaising with school staff, parents, and pupils

You should hold a Professional Cookery Qualification SVQ level 3 or equivalent experience. You should also hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Qualification. Where this is not held, holders of Elementary level will be considered on the understanding that they will complete Intermediate within 6 months of appointment.

This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
