About the Role

You will be part of McKinsey’s Ethics and Compliance (E&C) function, based in one of our core hubs in Europe. The E&C team manages risks to our firm, clients, and employees, supporting our firm’s impact and innovation through policies, training, monitoring, and enforcement. This role specifically works within the Privacy Compliance team, focusing on third-party privacy management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and update policies and procedures related to third-party privacy management.
  • Develop and refine frameworks and operating models for managing global regulatory obligations.
  • Create and implement enhancement plans, including awareness campaigns and control development.
  • Prepare reports on privacy risks and compliance status for leadership.
  • Execute third-party privacy due diligence and risk assessments.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third parties to ensure privacy compliance.
  • Collaborate with Legal to update contracts with privacy requirements.
  • Develop and deliver privacy compliance training.
  • Monitor and review controls, ensuring adherence to policies.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on compliance initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for privacy compliance questions.
  • Manage initiatives independently, involving senior leaders as needed.
  • Build partnerships with Legal and Risk teams to understand legal obligations.
  • Participate in privacy strategy initiatives and develop KPIs.
  • Support other privacy-related matters as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor\’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Juris Doctor, CPA) preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data privacy, with knowledge of global privacy laws.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT are a plus.
  • 3+ years in strategy or management consulting with project management skills.
  • Ability to learn local legal differences across countries.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Discretion and judgment in handling confidential information.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Experience leading global, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with tools like OneTrust or Auditboard is advantageous.
