We’re seeking an experienced solicitor or barrister to join our Legal team during a maternity leave at Nucleus. This role offers an opportunity to be part of an ambitious team that promotes strong legal risk management and compliance across the group. As the company undergoes growth and evolution, this position allows you to add value to our business and customers.
Responsibilities
- Advising on and negotiating contracts
- Supporting the Group with product advice, drafting agreements, and customer communications
- Assisting the Distribution team with adviser and fund manager agreements
- Reviewing policies and procedures for regulatory compliance, including data protection and Consumer Duty
- Collaborating with outside counsel on issues
- Contributing to strategic change projects
About You
You are a problem-solver, motivated by doing the right thing, with excellent research skills. You understand individual and team needs, are thorough, detail-oriented, and persistent in achieving the best outcomes. You communicate confidently, build relationships, and support a positive team environment. Cultural contribution is valued highly, alongside technical skills, which should include:
- Solicitor or Barrister qualification in the UK with 4-5 years PQE
- Strong contract law knowledge and experience in drafting/reviewing contracts, including IT contracts
- Experience with FCA and/or PRA regulated environments
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities
