Summary

Economist Impact, a commercial arm of TEG, collaborates globally to advance missions and catalyse progress through thought leadership, events, and amplification programs. The Communications Lead will manage all global communications for our client portfolios, serving as a strategic partner to proposal and delivery teams. Responsibilities include developing and executing communication plans, identifying target markets and audiences, creating content across channels, and reporting on results. We seek a seasoned communications leader experienced with mission-driven brands. This role reports to the SVP of Global Communications, with a dotted line to the Global Head of Media Partnerships & Solutions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for all Economist Impact communications, coordinating across teams, clients, agencies, and TEG departments.
  • Integrate media relations, influencer engagement, executive communications, and PR to deliver measurable, aligned communication plans.
  • Secure earned media across diverse topics like health, trade, technology, and sustainability.
  • Develop creative strategies to position Economist Impact clients as thought leaders in their fields.
  • Present communication concepts to leadership to ensure alignment.
  • Collaborate on product, research, and event launches to generate buzz and recognition.
  • Leverage news cycles and cultural trends for impactful campaigns.
  • Plan for key industry moments and adapt to current events swiftly.
  • Build relationships with journalists, influencers, and content creators relevant to impact issues.
  • Stay informed on digital trends and explore innovative content and influencer strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate Economist Impact as a platform for thought leadership and client attraction.
