Seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Accounts Administrator to join an established team. The Accounts Administrator reports directly to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial transactions, including bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciling accounts and financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Hours and Pay:
- Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm
- Salary: A£25k start, increase to A£27k on passing 6 month probation + A£1200 annual attendance bonus
Job Duties:
- Credit Control: Making calls and sending emails to customers ensuring payments are received and correctly allocated.
- Purchase Ledger: Accept stock, process purchase invoices, accurately coding up and resolving any invoice approval issues.
- Sales Ledger: Process returns, issue credit notes and clear general customer enquiries.
- Purchase Reconciliation: Assist the purchasing department to ensure data is accurate to later reconcile for accounting purposes.
- Expense Management: Monitor and process employee expense claims and ensure they comply with company policy.
- General Ledger: Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger entries & resolve discrepancies.
- Set up supplier accounts, maintain existing account details within purchase & sales ledgers.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Maintain existing spreadsheets to assist with financial planning.
- Deal with supplier queries via phone or email. You will be expected to take other incoming calls and forward any non-accounts payable calls to the necessary department.
- Ad hoc duties supporting the whole accounts function and work as a cohesive Accounts Team.
The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate:
- Proven experience in accounts administration or bookkeeping.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of payroll processes and tax regulations is a plus.
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field are preferred.
