As a reporter on the Mobile team, you will research, write and break news to large digital audiences – working on some of the biggest stories of the UK’s news agenda. Your keen eye for a top line, diligent newsgathering and high standards of journalism will be crucial to helping Sky News stay at the front of the UK and world news – and you will be at the heart of this operation.

Whether it’s stories about the Royal Family, the war in Ukraine, the political events of the day, high-profile court cases, or live events such as the coronation, you will spot top lines and write about them with flair and speed.

What you’ll do:

  • Be at the forefront of breaking news to significant audiences on our website and app.
  • Pitch ideas for news stories, explainers and features, writing to style.
  • Research, write and produce stories and original journalism.
  • Uphold Sky News’ standards of accuracy.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • You may be asked to work with the live blogging team on occasion.

What you’ll bring:

  • A first-class journalist with a track record of finding, writing and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations – whether national or local.
  • Experienced in handling breaking news scenarios.
  • NCTJ-trained (or equivalent).
  • Very well-versed in media law.
  • Able to produce clean, engaging copy at pace and under pressure.
  • Willing to adjust your work patterns when events require.
