As Contract Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide leadership, supervision and development of team members on the contract.
  • Ensure M&E Reactive and extra works jobs are completed on time and to the right quality using direct labour team and approved subcontractors.
  • Ensure the multiple stakeholders on the site are kept updated at all times.
  • Ensure technical support is given to all engineers & the leadership team in connection to all reactive works, and assist in co-ordinating billable/minor works that deliver against time and budget requirements while meeting or exceeding client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure engineers are working productively completing reactive jobs on site, providing technical support where needed, and organise and plan engineers on site to ensure they are working proactively.
  • Drive the productivity of the engineers on site to ensure they are reducing their open jobs to an acceptable standard.
  • Maintain knowledge of the open jobs on site and complete high profile jobs within an acceptable time period.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the engineers, including toolbox talks, risk assessments and general communication.
  • Call in subcontractors when needed to complete reactive jobs.
  • Review and approve all RAMS for reactive works, ensuring safety.
  • Audit direct labour and subcontractor works to ensure quality of work and safety of working practices.
  • Raise and follow through of permits for high risk activities including hot works, excavation, etc.
  • Assist the Contract Manager in completing extra works projects.
  • Work alongside the compliance team to run operations.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to other areas of the team as needed.
  • Sign in contractors including giving inductions when needed.
  • Participate in a duty manager roster every 6 weeks, dealing with escalations on site out of working hours.
  • Be available out of hours on occasion to deal with escalations on site.
  • Attend city centre venues on occasion to assist in workload.
  • Send out regular updates to multiple stakeholders on site regarding the status of jobs.
  • Liaise with helpdesk to provide updates on jobs.
  • Travel around site during the day attending jobs and updating multiple stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple jobs simultaneously in a professional manner while providing good communication.
  • Able to work on the move and multitask.
  • Plan in roster with PPM supervisor to ensure all events and exhibitions are covered in the month.
  • Identify, reduce, and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with reactive operations.
  • Assist contract support and Contract Manager in administering the reactive and extra works.
  • Ensure compliance with CBRE policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other CBRE engineers and APs on other sites to ensure the collaborative development of the contract and company.
  • Work with other supervisors & Contract Manager to ensure appropriate control/monitoring systems PPM, CM & reactive works are used/shared to meet statutory, policy and contractual commitments.
  • Promote and maintain the core values of CBRE.
  • Deliver effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to toolbox talks, briefings, correspondence, and ad-hoc reporting as appropriate.

Accountabilities

  • Reporting to CBRE Contract Manager.
  • Accountability to the CBRE Contract Manager.
  • Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts and Contract Manager.
  • Joint financial responsibilities for the delivery of the operational plan.
  • Accountable for the team of engineers who work within the CBRE contract.
