An opportunity not to be missed has arisen for a Building Services Manager to join a tier one contractor who have an array of projects within Healthcare, Education and Local Authority to name a few. This is an exciting time to join this business given their plans for growth for an already well-established company and team.
The purpose of this role is to manage the building services element from construction, commissioning through to handover, provide technical support to the onsite construction activities in order to maintain quality benchmarks, assist the Design Manager in the discharge of the Design Manager's Specific Tasks and Responsibilities.
Responsibilities:- Review the Tender Information and determine the scope and extent of all remaining design work, prior to the Tender Start-up meeting.
- Verify that the existing Tender (design) Information is compliant, coordinated, affordable (within the existing budget) and buildable prior to the Tender Settlement meeting.
- Determine, in conjunction with the bid team, the strategy for the completion of all remaining design work.
- Assess/audit all novated Design Team members and if applicable negotiate any additional services.
- Prepare and issue fee enquiries for supplementary Design Team members.
- Develop, in conjunction with the Design Team, competitive, technically robust design and engineering solutions.
- Engage with specialist subcontractors to develop innovative design solutions and close out design interfaces.
- Manage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data.
- Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces and review alternative design.
- Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and or material proposals for client approval.
- Establish quality benchmarks, review regularly and undertake final acceptance.
- Manage the installation of utilities.
- Experience covering design, construction and commissioning stages of complex projects.
- A high level of technical expertise in MEP services including process engineering.
- Experienced at working in 3D and with off-site manufacturing approaches.
- Competent in the use of 4projects or similar Common Data Environment.
- Knowledge of software including AutoCAD and BIM.
- HNC or above in a Building Services/construction related field.
- A full UK driving licence.
