About the role

You will be responsible for leading the daily operations within your team to ensure accurate and timely picking processes of all orders with maximum efficiency, as well as providing coaching assistance to team members. You will also be responsible for understanding and confirming full compliance to all Safety and Technical standards, along with creating a positive working environment within the team and driving excellent levels of accuracy and quality.

Shift Pattern: This is a night shift role with a start time of 7pm, with a finish time dependent on the last van being picked and loaded, working 5 out of 6 nights Sunday to Friday.

What you will do:

  • Health and Safety / Food Safety: Ensure that hygiene standards are at all times performed to BRC accreditation and to our own high GMP standards. Adhere to SOP and safety training and ensure that your team are fully SOP trained. Uphold company and statutory Health & Safety, security and emergency procedures.
  • Night Warehouse Operation: Ensure all picking deadlines and priority cut-off times are met. Review daily picking errors with members of your team. Ensure all routes are picked to meet deadlines whilst maintaining first-in-first out concept. Conduct timely research to locate products to prevent backorders. Track and maintain productivity standards and assess colleagues, supplies and equipment needs. Maintain “Tour Ready” clean and safe work areas and secure building/operations at the end of shift.
  • People Responsibility: Attract and retain a qualified and motivated workforce, whilst fostering new ideas and improvements. Continuously develop direct reports by coaching them and documenting their progress. Ensure colleagues are cross-trained to provide adequate coverage in key processes.

What you will need:

  • Experience operating in a fast-paced warehousing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar operating systems, is desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform excellent communication, supervisory and customer service skills.
  • Able to identify problems and resolve them in a timely manner; possess a sense of urgency and ability to prioritise tasks and resources appropriately.
  • Promote an environment conducive to maximising employee morale, productivity and effectiveness.
