Intertek Electrical has an exciting Key Account Manager opportunity to join their thriving team. Reporting directly to the Head of Medical and Consumer Sales, you will be responsible for both new and existing business development, working across a diverse range of customer accounts to build a pipeline of opportunities across our service offering.
ABOUT YOU
As a Key Account Manager, you will be an excellent negotiator with great communication skills. You will have proven sales metrics experience (e.g. activity, quotes, orders targets) and be excited about providing an end-to-end sales service, working throughout the sales cycle from prospecting to opportunity generation, quoting (with support from the operations team) and closing.
Required skills and experience:
- Proven technical sales experience, ideally with a variety of customers, ranging from small to large and complex organisations.
- Exceptional communication skills, including empathy, active listening, clarity-seeking, adaptability, and professionalism in both verbal and non-verbal interactions.
- Proven track record of YOY growth and ability to strategize a sales plan.
- Strong relationship building at all levels with an adaptable approach.
- Comfort with working to targets in a metric-driven environment (e.g., activity, opportunities, quotes, orders).
- Ability to blend qualitative and quantitative information to formulate and communicate solutions effectively.
- Good IT literacy, including comfort with CRM usage and the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Ability to be field-based, covering the UK market.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Key Account Manager will accelerate the growth of the UK Intertek Electrical business by unlocking the potential of our most exciting customer base. You will be regularly engaging with Director level decision-makers in some of the worldβs largest and most innovative companies, representing Intertek and positioning us as a partner of choice.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales plans: engage regularly with key accounts (new and existing) to grow our customer network and account spend.
- Drive business growth through strong business development and mentoring of the sales team.
- Serve as the customer interface, providing seamless service from start to finish.
- Represent Intertek at events, trade shows, and conferences, working with marketing to engage key customers and build our reputation as thought leaders.
- Collaborate with Operations for a unified sales approach.
Office Locations: Milton Keynes, Leatherhead, Chester β desirable working a few days a week from one of the locations listed.
