We’re looking for a Service Designer to join our growing User Experience (UX) team at Boots. As a Service Designer your role is necessary to creating holistic user journeys by identifying and bridging experience gaps between Product squads. You’ll span the range of the user-centred design process, from understanding problems to initial research, right through to design concepts. You’ll work closely with Product Designers, Product Managers and User Researchers in UX as well as SMEs across the business, Marketing and external third parties to ensure impactful communication of user insights.
What you’ll need to have:
- Collaborate within Product teams to deliver insight that informs the product strategy and design process.
- Build relationships with cross-functional teams including Product, Optimisation, Marketing, Voice of the Consumer and other Boots UK colleagues to find agreement on how to improve the experience for front/backstage colleagues and our customers.
- Design and develop complex user flows, journey maps and visual aids to guide the creation of improved user experiences for Boots.com.
- Support Product Designers to create design concepts that effectively communicate an experience vision.
- Conduct user research or support our User Research team to help evaluate current service offerings across the business.
- Bring together customer insights by working with our UX Research, Voice of the Consumer group and Data and Analytics teams to visualise data for SMEs and Product teams.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Proactively seek peer feedback to test and learn different ways of working within the project.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and latest design technologies to continuously improve our design process and output.
It would be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field is preferred. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 2-4 years of professional experience as a Service Designer in a private company. Public services is a plus.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects, including discovery research, design concepts and evaluative research.
- Proficient in Figma and UserTesting.com.
- Experience with user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with generative and evaluative User Research techniques and usability testing.
- Practice in Object Oriented UX is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Positive attitude to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Proactive, self-motivated, collaborative and curious to learn.
