Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist.
Full Time Permanent Contract: 34.5 hours per week – 7am-7pm, 4 week rotation Sun-Mon-Tues/Wed-Thu-Fri.
Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP.
Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union. This role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may apply.
Machining of aircraft components from generated engineering models to prescribed customer specification, using aluminium or titanium metal as required, utilising 3, 4 and 5 axis machine tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- A CNC Machinist will be responsible for the operation of machining cells which could include working on aluminum and/or titanium metal parts on 2, 4 and 5 Axis machines.
- Setting and operating the machine tools.
- To be able to operate multiple machines at all times during shift when safe to do so.
- To communicate efficiently and effectively with the supervisor, manager and colleagues.
- To carry out component change overs for own machines and colleagues if required.
- Carry out de-burring of components, including removal of sharp edges and cleaning of holes.
- Route work as necessary to next operation as per work instructions or team leader direction.
- Ability to resolve machining problems with minimum supervision.
- Escalation of unresolved problems to Shift Leader, Team Leader or Manager as required.
- Provide accurate handover information to next shift on current status and any issues arisen.
- Ensure all job card documentation is filled in correctly before moving onto next operation.
- To work in line with all company requirements including following work-to list and set up sheets.
- Housekeeping and maintenance of own working environment.
