Your Role

Help ensure compliance with radiological protection standards, policies, and site requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and support a Radiation Protection Strategy tailored to our activities.
  • Analyze regulatory requirements (IRR17 & REPPIR) and support site compliance.
  • Offer radiological safety advice to achieve ALARP compliance.
  • Analyze data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare clear guidance for radiological practices.
  • Conduct radiation risk assessments and implement controls.
  • Advise on instruments and their suitability for surveillance and waste sentencing.
  • Support design and installation of new radiation processes.
  • Assist waste management with radiological expertise.
  • Investigate incidents, capture lessons, and recommend actions.
  • Draft and review radiological documents like site instructions and ALARP assessments.
  • Support business growth by assessing and communicating radiological risks.

My Profile

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Certificate or nearing completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK ionizing radiation regulations (IRR17, REPPIR).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of ALARP principles.

Bonus Points

  • Experience as a Radioactive Waste Adviser, Process Owner, or Subject Matter Expert.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence conditions and radioactive waste management.
  • Expertise in radiation protection instrumentation and transport arrangements.
  • Membership in the Society of Radiological Protection (MSRP or above).
