Position Overview: We are seeking a senior quant developer to join the Implementation team. You will be part of a small team of domain experts who are responsible for the ongoing design, development, and support of Acadian’s state-of-the-art portfolio optimization, trading, and simulation systems. This role will focus on Acadian’s Systematic Credit business and will lead the build-out of industry-leading capabilities for trading high-yield and investment-grade corporate bonds.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with engineering complex systems and pipelines, as well as experience with Python/Pandas/Polars, SQL, AWS, Portfolio Construction/Optimization, Trading and Trading Systems, and Simulation. Prior experience with systematic investment management, corporate bonds and other credit instruments is preferred but not required.
Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.
What You’ll Do:
- In collaboration with Implementation, Systematic Credit, and IT teams, help design, implement and support highly scalable order generation and post-optimization order flow tools.
- Develop a solid understanding of the current portfolio construction and trading processes at Acadian and work towards improving and consolidating the existing workflows.
- Independently, or in collaboration with key investment team units, carry out research, data analysis, and software development projects with the aim of reducing operational risks and improving active portfolio performance through better portfolio construction, better risk management, lower transaction costs, etc.
- Maintain and improve our existing production and simulation tools.
- Test, maintain and document code for applications.
- Collaborate with the investment/research, trading, IT, and client-facing teams.
We’re Looking for Teammates With:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience required.
- 3-10 years of prior work experience, preferably in quantitative research and software development.
- Hands-on development experience with Python and track record of shipping production code.
- Familiarity with Cloud/AWS, CI/CD, Git, Linux.
- Knowledge of portfolio construction, optimization and trading is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of corporate bonds and other credit instruments is preferred but not required.
- Ability to solve analytical problems; Ability to set up data-driven experiments and draw actionable conclusions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a collegial, results-oriented environment.
- Drive to deliver on high value projects and a roll up your sleeves attitude.
