For a February start, an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cheltenham College Estates Team for a full-time Gardener. Consideration would be given to different hours of working or possibly part-time hours, for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will work as part of a small, close-knit team delivering a high standard of garden maintenance and hard and soft landscaping within the Cheltenham College campus. We seek a reliable individual, with good initiative and the ability to work unsupervised. A good knowledge of horticulture and a qualification in horticulture, or a similar discipline, would be preferable but not essential. Candidates must be able to maintain a positive attitude in all winds and weathers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Gardening team in day-to-day tasks such as hand weeding, pruning, mowing and leaf clean-up.
- Transporting equipment and personnel safely around property.
- Assisting in the completion of other tasks as directed.
As well as the requirements listed above, this role would require a full, clean driving licence and preferably experience of driving a trailer. PA1 and PA6, brush-cutter and chainsaw certification is desirable but not essential; on-the-job training can be arranged.
Salary: £25,188.00 per annum.
Hours of work: 39 per week from 7am to 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 7am to 2.30pm on Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. Additional hours and weekend work may be required as and when specific College functions dictate.
